The Mentok Kangri Expedition stands out for its blend of serene landscapes and demanding mountaineering challenges. Located near the Tso Moriri Lake in Ladakh’s remote Changthang Plateau in India, Ladakh has many hidden treasures to explore once in a lifetime. It is one of the most fascinating trekking and Climbing destinations for adventurers. One such treasure is Mentok Kangri or Mentok. It is a high peak Nestled at an altitude of 20, 702 ft, Mentok Kangri has tough slopes and ridges to cross on the way.

Reaching at top of Mentok Kangri Peak will leave you spellbound as it offers mesmerizing views. The name of the peak Mentok is derived from a wildflower that grows in the nearby region. You have to climb the icy slopes of the mountain to finish this summit. It takes you through the beautiful villages of Ladakh, isolated valleys, and alluring monasteries of the ancient period.

This mountain peak gives a surreal view of Tso Moriri and the nearby peaks such as Chamser and Lungser Kangri. It is one of the beautiful trails of Ladakh that takes you through several wonders of the Ladakh region. Although it is an easy climb but you need a strong physical fitness and trekking experience to finish this summit.

Best Time to go for the Mentok Kangri II Expedition:
Pick the time between June and September to go for the MentokKangri II Expedition. The weather conditions are clear in these months with blue skies and cool temperatures. There is no snowfall or rain in these months.

Because of clear skies and favorable weather conditions, the trekkers can easily climb the peak. Good weather decreases the risk of road accidents as well.

This is the list of things that you must carry on the trek:

1 sun cap and 1 woolen cap
1 head torch with 3 pairs of batteries
1 Balaclava and 1 neck warmer
1 waterproof jacket, 1 down jacket, and 1 windproof jacket
1 trek pole
Poncho with a rain suit
4 pairs of trekking socks and 1 pair of woolen socks
3 trek pants
Day pack with rain cover
1 flask of hot water and 1 water bottle
1 pair of thermal wear
Backpack with a capacity of 50 liters
Personal medicines
Personal kit containing things such as toothbrush, toothpaste, sunscreen SPF 50+, hand towel, super dry towel, face wash, toilet soap and moisturizer
1 pair of good trekking shoes

You must follow these things on the expedition such as:

Book tickets to Manali before a few weeks of trek to avoid last-minute hassles
Cooperate with your team members and trek leaders
You must have a high level of physical fitness to complete this trek
Do not carry heavy luggage on the trip
Flippers and sneakers are not allowed on the trek
